I've been bemused to find an awful lot of people in this subreddit adamantly claiming that because the Bible uses masculine language about God, therefore God is male. I thought I'd take a straw poll to get an impression of just how popular that line of thought is. I'd be interested to hear people elaborate on their reasons.
