Here's the backstory behind this poll if you're interested (feel free to ignore this and just answer the poll): Lately I've been hanging out over on r/buildapc and recently read an argument about 16gb vs 32gb for a "strictly gaming PC," with most people in favor of 16gb. This struck me as odd since I tend to think of my build as just a gaming PC (meaning I rarely use it for video rendering or any heavy workloads like that). However, I still found it worth it to install 32gb because I keep a lot of Chrome tabs open, Photoshop, VLC, etc, and all that stuff eats up a lot of RAM and isn't necessarily convenient to close every time I want to pop into a game for half an hour. I always just thought of this as the normal use case for a custom-built PC, but that made me wonder, so I got reading around. It seems a lot of people just use their PC as basically a glorified console - that is to say they basically *only* play games on it and maybe occasionally for checking social media or watching YouTube or something. Giving that this subreddit is about PC gaming I'm going to assume that you use your PC for that purpose, but now I'm curious to find out what the ACTUAL typical use case is for so called "gaming PCs."
