I saw my ENT on Friday (had a balloon sinuplasty procedure done in office to hopefully solve chronic sinusitis issues.) Before the procedure began, I asked my doc if he was familiar with Dysfunction of the Belch Reflux, He had never heard of it. I whipped out a copy of Dr. Bastian's paper and said that I was fairly certain this issue is something I have and that I am interested in getting the Botox procedure done. I mentioned this subreddit has over 7400 subscribers and that to my knowledge there are no doctors in Michigan performing this procedure yet. Hoping to talk to him more about this at my followup visit. I live in Michigan, near Detroit. Not too far from Chicago but I honestly would rather find a local doc so I don't have to travel and can recoup in my own home. I was thinking it might be interesting to see where all of us NoBurpers live. If we can go to our respective docs and say, "Listen, I know of at least XX people in this state who are interested in having this procedure but might have to go out of state or even out of country in order to have it," that might inspire some of these docs to take it more seriously. If you live outside the US, mention it in the comments. I will put together a country poll if people are interested.
