I've used MDMA for a few years now and I've never had any success with 5HTP to assist with the comedown/recovery time. As far as I know there have not been any studies performed involving human beings with 5HTP and MDMA recovery. So now it looks like general opinion/ recorded anecdotal evidence is the best we're going to get.
