Hi everybody,
Recently some of you may remember I made a post questioning whether the MacBook Pro 2015 was still a good buy in 2017. I got it refurbished, and it just arrived. Honestly, though, I'm still not convinced that I should have gotten this one instead of the newest Macbook. I know the pro's and cons of each. However, the difference in price between this one and the 2016 MBP refurbished is about 80 dollars, which my mom actually said she'd cover to pay the difference if I wanted that as a birthday gift.
I've already gotten some thoughts on this but I guess I would like to hear from more people. Is there anyone who has had both? Which do you prefer? To be honest a lot of people were talking about how the 2015 keyboard was better than 2016, but I found the keyboard on this macbook to be a bit clunky (But then again I'm not used to either.)
I do like the accessibility to the ports with this machine. And I would feel safer with the MagSafe. What I don't understand is why some people say they should call the 2016 MacBook Pro a regular macbook or MacBook Air, when its very similar to the specs of the 2015 MBP.
I also feel like I've read around here a lot of people have been saying that Best Buy occasionally has really good deals lowering the prices of the base model to the 1200's, which is pretty much what I paid for this laptop. I just don't know if its worth the prices at the end of the day for 3 year old equipment, even though the newer macbook may be inconvenient for me, someone who will probably need ports and isn't used to that hub life.
So tell me what to think, Reddit. And I will abide.
Also if anyone knows of any sales coming up where I might be able to get a better deal please let me know. I was trying to see if maybe for Memorial Day someone would sell, but...
Your vote: Return and switch with 2016 MacBook Pro w/o touchbar
