I'm looking to add another bike to my stable, and I think I want Reddit's input... maybe. ha ha
This whole thing started when saw the new Monkey, as I had a Mini Trial 50 growing up. I'd really like to stay around $3,700 out the door for this bike purchase. So the Monkey kinda throws a wrench into things, as most of the Monkeys seem to still be going for full MSRP in my area, but I'm not entirely opposed to stretching my budget a bit for a Monkey. Not sure if it matters too much, as I should be able to adjust the ergos on most of these to fit me if needed, but I'm 6ft 225 lbs and will be the primary rider.
What I'm looking for:
- Under (or around) 300 lbs curb weight *(I want to be able to throw it on a hitch, if I don't want to trailer a bigger bike.)*
- Aftermarket part availability *(I can't leave well enough alone.)*
- Nonthreatening *(I've got a few people interested in learning to ride, and I'd like something small/friendly to teach them on)*
- Dual Sport tire availability *(I know none of these are crazy off-road machines, but I enjoy a unpaved road or trail from time to time.)*
If I stay under my preferred ~$3,700 budget, that'll leave me more money for customizing.
