This is a debate I've been in the middle of a number of times and just want to get a good grasp on where the fandom in general stands to see if maybe its just me that is missing something.
Now the question is does a force user need to be trained to consciously use the force. That means when they are doing something. I'm not talking about the force acting in the background to make someone a better pilot or extra lucky or like a bunch of boxes falling on someone and them catching them in the air. Thats passively using the force.
I'm talking about consciously using it. Like when Obi-wan and Quigon used the force to run down the trade federation ship or when reached out and pulled the saber from the snow or when Cal freezes a bunch of blaster bolts and then pulls a trooper forward so they get hit with their own blaster bolts. Does using the force in that way where the force user knows what they want to happen and makes it happen require training?
Or once a person realizes they have the force should they be able to do all of the above mentioned things as long as they can imagine it?
Your vote: No: As soon as a person knows they are force sensitive they can do whatever they want
