Sledgehammer games initially stated that CoD WWII would be a historically accurate depiction of World War II. After seeing the multiplayer gameplay reveal, several liberties were taken against the accuracy and authenticity of the time period going against what they told us. The time period is a major selling point of this game. These liberties include playable women on both the allies and axis, as well as black soldiers for the Wehrmacht/Germans/Nazi's.
Women did fight for the Russians in the war, however Russians were not playable in the gampeplay. If they were, this would have been acceptable as it stays true to historical accuracy.
Overall, what is your opinion on the matter? Should they have stayed true to historical accuracy like they claimed there were going to do, or even though they claimed to maintain authenticity to the time period, is it ok to make these changes to appeal to females/minorities more?
Just want to say, I am not an anti-feminist or a racist, I am simply a history buff that likes to get immersed in historical games. I would love to see the views of the community as a whole.
