I included odd numbers in the ranges because obviously, in Roto it does not matter if your league has an even number of teams I just wanted to get an idea of what the average league size is. I think ESPN defaults to 10 and Yahoo defaults to 12. I've always preferred 16 team leagues because I hate having good talent left on the waiver wire. I've never played deeper than 16, but I think I'd enjoy it. I love looking for buried treasure, guys that nobody writes about, and that my own research points me to pick up. It's very rewarding to hit gold in that manner (for example, Jacob deGrom last year). On the other hand, in leagues even deeper than 16, I'm sure injuries to stars/superstars are just devastating, and I'm sure the barren wasteland of a WW is daunting. I'm likely going to play an 8 team league this year with friends, but I'm petitioning hard for the roster sizes to double so that we have more starting spots and bench spots. What is your sweet spot? Do you like deep leagues or shallow leagues? For those that like shallower leagues, what are your reasons? Is streaming a strategy you use? Or do you like being able to cut a slumping player sooner? In no way do I mean to disparage those of you in smaller (or larger) leagues, I'm just curious as to what you like the most or least about your league size. Just curious as to everyone's opinion, and curious as to what the poll will reveal.
