Good day, wastelanders!
Week 1 has officially moved onto the voting stage! To calculate the contenders, I totaled up the votes for the top 5 posts, and added +1 per duplicate. There was a three way tie between NY, Texas and Alaska for 5th place. I decided to give Texas the last slot, since NY was canonically blown to bits and we've been to Alaska before.
So here are this week's contenders!
1) Chicago: Easily beating most other options, Chicago was hands down the most suggested option. Near the great lakes, full of life with rich history in the world of Jazz and organized crime, and surrounded by rust belt towns and the Great Lakes, it would be a varied, versatile option.
2) Washington/British Columbia border region: Coming in with the most votes, but no duplicates, is the Canadian border. Able to squeeze in Vancouver in the north and Seattle in the south. We'd finally get our nuclear winter, and with mutated Canadians to boot! The Seattle/Vancouver range would leave plenty of wildlife and open terrain, while still providing plenty of urban sprawl.
3) Denver: Denver is a unique option. While Denver is a fantastic city, it's also close to the Cheyenne Mountain Complex, which would allow for a giant, subterranean complex hidden beneath a sprawling mountain. Giant vaults? Mutated mountain goats? The possibilities are endless.
4) Hawaii: A tropical expanse would be a stark contrast to most fallout games. Volcanoes, radioactive iguanas, and plenty of Americana with tourist traps. It also opens up aquatic opportunities with Pearl Harbor, shipwrecks, underwater fauna and so much more.
5) Houston, Texas: Back to the desert, Houston would be an interesting location. Not only would we have the Alamo in Houston, but we have Mexico to the south, and the Bayou right next door, allowing for plenty of variety.
Your vote: Denver/Cheyenne Mountain Complex
