This is an ongoing debate in some photo forums.
Should the word "photograph" be applied to creative composites made from multiple photos? Should the term "a photograph" be used even if the image shows something that doesn't exist in real life?
Example:
I photoshop a composite image of a jackalope, by combining a photo of deer antlers with a photo of a bunny. Is it correct to use term "photograph" for the resulting image?
Example 2:
I combine 3 photos - a desert in the sourthwest, a tornado in the midwest, and a tree from the northeast, to create a realistic landscape scene depicting a tornado over tree growing in the desert. Could I call this scene "a landscape photograph"?
Your vote: Yes, a composite of multiple images can be called a photograph.
