To elaborate a bit, there are some fantasy historical stories that essentiallly take place in a real time period in our Earth where everything is exactly the same but with magic thrown in. A lot of people point out that this is silly as the existence of magic would mean a radically different course of history. What do you think ? Can such a premise make for a good story or is it doomed from the start ?
