Since we've all had some time to form our opinions on BotW's timeline placement, I thought it'd be interesting to see what the community is thinking as a whole. The theorizing for this game has been interesting, to say the least. There doesn't appear to be one agreed upon theory here. I'm not sure if I can remember any major Zelda game that has generated so many alternate explanations for it's placement.
