After the Clippers pulled off an incredible tank job against the Rockets to get out of the #3 seed, the Nuggets have a hard decision today. They hold the tiebreaker over the Clippers, so it looks like they'll end up in the #3 seed no matter what they do.
If they beat the Blazers today they'll send the Blazers to the play-in, and face the Lakers in the first round. If they lose to the Blazers today, they'll face them in the first round, and send the Lakers to the play-in.
All of this is contingent on the Lakers beating the Pelicans at home today, but I think there's a pretty good chance of that.
For his part, Jokic has been adamant all week about wanting to play through the rest of the season, not resting, and treating the remaining schedule like normal games. However, Mike Malone has proven over their recent playoff runs that he's absolutely not above manipulating the seeding on his part, no matter what he says.
So what's your opinion on this? Is tanking to manipulate matchups an inherently bad thing? Are you a Nuggets fan who just wants a more favorable matchup for an incredibly shorthanded team that had to rebuild their entire guard rotation over the last few weeks? Do you just want to see the Lakers go through the play-in? And what's your opinion on teams doing stuff like this in general?
