#Leading Candidates
**Barristan:**
Pros: Current interim ruler of the city and commander of Daenerys's forces (especially the Unsullied).
Cons: Death flags. Death flags everywhere.
**Daenerys:**
Pros: Recognized Queen of Meereen, commands the Unsullied, has dragons, will almost certainly be in charge if she returns in time for the battle, which she does in the show.
Cons: Seems highly unlikely she will actually be back by the time the battle ends.
**Tyrion:**
Pros: Competent administrator and politician, could potentially get major power boost by taming a dragon, ruled for a time in the show.
Cons: Negative charisma, no connections in the city.
**The Shavepate:**
Pros: leader of the "shavepates" political faction, controls the Brazen Beasts paramilitary faction, may be the Harpy.
Cons: Brazen Beasts are not a match for the Unsullied unless they're substantially weakened by the battle. Definitely no match for a dragon.
**The Green Grace:**
Pros: Highly respected political figure, may be the Harpy.
Cons: Commands no "hard power" (unless she is the Harpy).
**Victarion:**
Pros: Commands the Iron Fleet, has a powerful Red Priest ally, could potentially bind a dragon.
Cons: Is a man with a two digit IQ trying to wield a deadly ancient artifact without an instruction manual, given to him by a far more intelligent sociopath known for giving "poisoned" gifts. Death flags galore.
**Daario Naharis:**
Pros: Commands the Stormcrows, is consort of Daenerys Targaryen, greatest warrior the ASOIAF world has ever seen (according to self), may secretly be half the characters in ASOIAF.
Cons: Pretty much everyone other than Daenerys can't stand him.
**Brown Ben Plumm:**
Pros: Commands the Second Sons.
Cons: Brown Ben Plumm has no weaknesses.
**The Wise Masters:**
Pros: Has Meereen surrounded by a sizable military force.
Cons: TWOW suggests the battle is turning against them, victory would probably derail quite a few plot arcs.
