I am trying to understand if it's worth the pain to replace the concise "grep -Po" option (that only GNU grep provides) and not the BSD grep (default on macOS), with something more verbose.
The "\K" meta character and look-ahead "(?= ..)" operator that the "-P" switch provide are awesome along with the "-o" switch.
So I am trying to understand:
- Is installing GNU grep on macOS (though, very easily done using brew install) very rare?
- What grep version do you use?
- Are there any disadvantages for using the GNU grep binary on macOS?

For fair votes, DO NOT VOTE if you do not use macOS.
Thanks.
