In light of mazdaspeedforums going down a couple weeks ago, I think it's time we start rebuilding the knowledge base that was lost. In private, I only just recently started compiling all the threads, workshop pages, and other sources that I've ever found useful. So far, this has only been for my use only. After MSF went down, I figured I should investigate opening this private adventure to the community, and allowing others to contribute.
Please note! This would NOT be a forum; this will NOT be a place for commenting, discussion or VIP members. The platform I am proposing is a Wiki-format, (see https://www.mpselectmini.com/start for an example) meaning it's a place to organize and document your builds, research, testing, prototypes etc. There will be no members (except for a select few admin and mods), no required donations to access workshop manuals, and everything contributed will be released to the community FOR FREE to be accessed whenever someone needs it.
In the future, I had planned to do some prototyping of my own for things like manifold adapters, oil catch cans, and more. I know that there are many out there who are far more talented and capable than myself, and I'm not yet fully equipped to handle this stuff but it's in the plan. As these prototypes come to fruition, this Wiki platform would allow myself and others to release these designs (model and drawing files) to the community to help further develop the platform.
Lots of people say this platform is dead or dying; companies like COBB have already started trending in the direction of halting support, and our numbers grow smaller. What I aim to do is change this by allowing the knowledge to stay afloat long after I've ZZB'd. If knowledge is lost, then the platform is for sure dead, I hope to not let that happen. i see what I assume are young people picking up MS3's for their first or second car, and I'd like to see continuing support from the community to help these people out.
