In the upcoming patch OB68 Hi-Rez plans to do away with skin customisation. Skin customisation was one of the major points of the game that is Paladins, since not many other games in the genre offer the option.
Hirez claims their decision will improve the performance on low end systems. That is false. I know people who customise to no end and get decent 40- 50 fps on low end systems; including myself.
Hirez claims they wish to include skins that are different than the base model, and have to merge the skins because of that. If they wish to include such skins they can introduce them as 1 piece, and leave the existing system untouched.
Most of the existing skins look less than perfect, and only have 1 or 2 pieces that look nice. People spend hundreds of crystals on buying skins for hair or weapon only, to use them with diferent sets.
Some might argue: "but skins don't matter for the game, gameplay is important!". Why are then skins even a thing then? Why did hirez include mix&match system in the first place, and make the playerbase love it, only to remove it later on?
What hirez should be focusing on are bug fixes, wich we all know are many and have been around for quite a while.
So please, give your vote for "YES", "NO" or "I DON'T CARE" to the question "DO YOU WANT TO SEE SKIN CUSTOMISATION GONE"
We will see how much Hirez truly listens.
