I understand the fear for matchmaking when it comes to raids. People don't want the hassle of getting someone who is under leveled or hasn't done the raid before. That fear isn't irrational but what about a kiosk?
Now hear me out. I'll set up the steps as I see them in my mind. Imagine something like the weapons and armor terminals but in the area around the cryptarch or Tess. You walk up and you're presented with two options: Create a raid or find a raid.
Let's say you hit create a raid. Your then presented with a tab to select which raid you wish to play and then which mode normal or hard. Under that is another tab for setting a light level minimum like 280+ of 320+ or a no preference option. After this are a few check boxes for things like experience. Check one box if you only want people who have done the raid before. I'm sure you guys could think of others. But you get my point. Then you set it to active and wait for requests.
But what if you were looking for a raid. You'd enter the kiosk and hit find a raid. This would list all raids available to you. Available meaning, based on the character you are currently using, the kiosk will filter out raids above your light level. A filter tab to choose specific raids, another filter for Raids that are nothing but people doing it for the first time, and another for whatever could be a viable option. You can pick up to five raids at a time and these will send notifications to the guardian who made the raid search letting them know you wish to join the raid.
On the raid makers side they will get an in game notification that such and such requests to join you're fire team for such and such raid. You open the notification and it brings up the guardians specs. Kind of like when you inspect another guardian with r3. If you find the guardian is what you need you hit accept and join fireteam thing is sent. If not then a this player declined your request is sent.
I know there are lfg sites for this and that's great but this will keep the player immersed in the game. We all know how annoying it is to have to read the grimore outside of the game. This is basically the same thing.
