My favorite part of the game is special research even though we've been blessed with it only 4 times so far. I particularly enjoy the structured approach and needed to complete parts of the task linearly. I can plan, work around it, and enjoy being in control. If every Pokemon had an option (invoked through Pokedex) I'd spend a lot more time playing. They could limit it to 3 at a time, or no same ones at any time, and it could work even for regionals by having the very last task involving a visit to an area so when I have a 4 hour layover in France I could claim Mr. Mime on landing having completed the previous 5 parts.
