We've all experienced situations where we're needing to retreat while firing at enemies to our front. Unfortunately for us, this normally ends up in disaster because we either get caught on an object (such as very small rocks) or hit a wall. Note that this is also true for when you're running forward and are firing to those behind. If we were able to swing the camera around faster to see what's behind us and then return to the enemy ahead.
Now, there _is_ a way to lock your 3^(rd)-person camera while allowing a free-view. You can try to take advantage of it by holding it down (this is `RB` for Xbox by default; it's the auto-aim button) and then moving the camera, and finally hitting the Zoom button to return to your target, but regardless...
*It would significantly better if we could utilize a quick-look to check our backs and then return focus forward.* It would be just one button (hold to activate) that we can map.
