There are many heated discussions about one trick in this subreddit today.
It surprise me that many people are thinking that one-trick in competitive without taking the situation into consideration is OK.
I was wondering that maybe was I in the wrong so I created this poll to see how other people think about one trick.
To me, competitive is, well.... competitive. And playing only one hero, in some situation, is the same as throwing the game.
For example, when a team consists of 6 DPS mains, and everybody insta-locked and refuses to switch, IMO, that team is considered as throwing a game.
That's the extreme situation, but yes, there are tons of other situations where refusing to change affected the team performance somehow, sometimes it only affected a little, sometimes it's moderate, and sometimes it's huge.
So, in the entire career of one trick player, there would also be many times that they greatly affected the team performance in a bad way because they refused to switch hero.
There would also have many situations that if they actually switch and although they have to play the hero they are not familiar with but it would still be better than playing their main. Or are there anybody dare to say that in their entire Overwatch career, there aren't any situation where "switching hero would be better ( despite currently playing your main )" at all? ( Even if you are 400 hours Genji, there will be some situation where switching off Genji is better )
This is not happening all the time, to some player, it might only happen once every 1000 rounds, once every 100 rounds, or once every 10 rounds. But unless your playtime is short, there will definitely have situations where "switching off your main is better".
When that happens and they still refuse to switch, that's not different from throwing the game.
