In the area I play and the folks I play with an Ace is generally accepted to be when you record a 1 on the scorecard when playing "for score" with at least one other person. Any other throw into the basket from the tee is cause for celebration but not an Ace. When is a throw from the tee into the basket an Ace? (options further down include all above it)
