Replays, Sandbox mode, 10 bans, Baker Pantheon, Vaping graves. This year, Riot has tried really hard to make the /r/LeagueOfLegends community happy. Unfortunately, however, they lack the technology to deliver what this community really needs to have: The ability to smash the face of your split pushing Soraka. I've carefully considered this as a possibility. There are a number of important factors that must be considered. First of all, League is not Chess boxing*. The ability to constantly physically assault your opponents would make League a different game. Violence should never be an expectation, only a consequence. Secondly, physical activity, (Such as punching your teammate in the face, repeatedly) is an excellent way of relieving stress and boosting happiness. Implementing this feature would result in less frustration between games, as issues could be resolved before the end screen. Additionally, feeders on tilt would be too physically incapacitated to keep playing, therefore removing them from the queue until they recover. Thirdly, the number of young children in your games would be reduced, as the threat of permanent damage would force parents to actually supervise their children, stopping them from antagonizing you. Fourthly, Teemo and Yasuo players would be forced to perform every game, at risk of death. While this may sound bad for those of your who play these champs, there is an upside. Picking any of these champions would become a symbol of bravery, eventually making these champions symbols of respect and courage. Finally, Riot would achieve their intended outcome of de-salting the community. We have all seen teams lose because they couldn't resist but flame each other, despite having a legitimate chance of victory if they worked together. Concussion induced lethargy would make this phenomena more dramatic, as teams would fall apart more quickly. After a while, the League community would see how devastating it is to their chances of winning, and would resist being toxic for longer.
