A question to the wider community around tanking behaviours and respect to all people in your group.
The points on either side:
- Pulling slowly gives healers time to recover mana and ensures the fight will be smoother
- Pulling quickly ensures classes procs aren't wasted and rotations can be much tighter, offering higher overall DPS and quicker runs
- It's a question of respect, but what about respecting all people in the group, not just the one who heals? Should we also consider the DPS who want to maintain their buffs and procs, now that most classes are heavily proc based?
- Should a tank be the only one to pull things? Is it ok for DPS to pull to utilise their insta-cast procs and bring more mobs into the AoE fray, aswell as pressuring the healer?
- IS pressuring a healer a bad thing? Does it encourage them to handle hard situations better, and give them better understanding of their cooldowns and how to emergency heal?
I am just trying to remove some of the negativity around faster dungeon/raid finder groups, and open a wider discussion on what's actually better practices overall. Should we respect just one player in the group, or consider them all? Should one person be able to dictate the rhythm of the group, or should we all have a say in the speed of engagement?
You decide!
