Hello! Following a suggestion in another thread, a planning meetup may be the most helpful action we can take to hit critical mass. Many brilliant minds in the same room, fueled by pizza (?), will help coordinate efforts across the city. The purpose would be to identify goals, network coverage area, egress points, available resources, and any physical/technological gaps so we can target and fill them.
I'm with Mesh++, a startup in River West working on large-scale mesh networking hardware. We don't exactly have a lot of resources to throw at the project, but can help with difficult coverage gaps and a convenient place to meet. We'd love to be more involved in the Chicago mesh community.
For those who think this is a good idea, please choose the dates below that work for you so that we can get a rough idea of timeline and numbers. We can host up to a few dozen people at our office near the Chicago Blue Line stop- if it gets larger we can find another nearby venue.
Very open to suggestions!
