We've had lots of great feedback, a big huge thank you to everyone who offered constructive feedback!
We've had a very small number of nasty responses (you're worse than the Governing body, you probably are still an elder, general "i hate you and you're stupid" comments). Even though it's a small number of nasty comments, they can really be hurtful. It's sad to see that here.
I'm happy to say that those responses were by far the minority, and most people that I've had a chance to interact with have been really helpful and realize that we as a mod team are doing our best to make the sub a great place for everyone.
Normally we moderate in a way that most people seem happy with. Largely this happens behind the scenes. This time around we responded and implemented a change that seemed to be supported by quite a few people and remained aligned with the purposes of the sub. Then we got a lot of feedback after the change - positive feedback thanking us, and also some negative feedback that others didn't like it. I think the consensus is that more people didn't like it than did, but it's hard to get a really clear picture just by reading people's comments and looking at vote scores across multiple comments.
So we started a process to better find out what people wanted, and to try to create a solution that could help the most people get what they'd like out of our community. The next step of that process is to gather anonymous feedback via this poll.
When you choose an option, all I'd ask is that you vote what you would like, but also consider if there's a way to implement a solution that gives other people what they want too. Some people aren't going to get their way. If you don't get your way, try to keep the personal attacks to yourself, it doesn't help make your point, it just makes you look immature.
You can choose more than one option, if we end up with really close vote counts we can repost a new poll that includes the top few options if necessary. We'll leave the poll up for the next day or two, I want as many people to have a chance to weigh in as possible, but I also want to keep moving toward a long term solution.
Please take the time to weigh in, your feedback will help us to continue to grow this community and provide a welcoming place for exJWs in the various stages of their journey.
