I dream of making real, 1:1 - possibly made of metal - Star Gate.
I have noticed there are Star Trek exhibitions where you could see the whole Star Trek ship deck, Star Trek ship replicas and similar, but nothing for Star Gate.
imagine if you could come to comicon, and (after waiting in long-ass line), you coul stand in front of life sized Star gate, with a dialing panel, and dial any adress you wished.
I would like to know how would you like for this Star Gate to look.
I have thought of a few options:
A1 - Original SG1 Star Gate - static, every adress fails
A2 - Original SG1 Star Gate - static, green screen in the Star Gate - inputting a real adress from TV Show, on some separate monitor, you get a video of you, standing in front of Star Gate, opening the stargate, with all the visuals and sounds accompanying it
A12 - Original SG1 Star Gate - spinning while dialing - every adress fails
A22 - Original SG1 Star Gate - green screen in the Star Gate - same as A2
B1 - SGA Star Gate - spinning while dialing - every adress fails
B2 - SGA Star Gate - green screen in the Star Gate - same as A2
Now, not to give you any false hopes, i currently have no resources to achieve this, but note, if i ever win national lottery, i will build this, if Just to see it myself, on my own backyard, possibly in some public convention.
In my ideal dream universe, i would recreate a small enclosed attraction, looking like the SG1 Star Gate, fully metallic and touchable, anchored in ground, fully capable of spinning, and with a working SG1 dialing panel, with an augmented reality generated footage, for you to see opening it, and you yourself passing throug the wormhole.
Would there be any point in this, or am i just too sentimental and nostalgic? Should we wait for full 3D holographic technology of far future to recreate the SG opening sequence (energy vortex and wormhole horizon)? Is this just a childish stupid dream? What do you think?
