In the games, training your Pokémon tends to be pretty easy. You can generally get a good solid fighter in a couple hours. Sometimes it's a little tedious, but you can.
Conversely it seems that NPC characters and those in the anime seem to have it the opposite way. They tend to choose a handful and stick with them.
In the games, this encourages you to switch frequently and remake your team based on who you're going up against in a certain area or gym. But you also lose out on dedication. It often loses you that feeling of companionship, like Ash with his Pikachu.
So, I ask you what you would prefer for Pokémon Go. Do you want to be able to have an Olympic level team on demand, or do you want to slowly build your Pokémon to be the best that no one ever was?
