The reason for the poll is to try and ascertain how many of us in the Pokémon community, have used an IV checker or the like. I am very curious as to how much of the community percentage wise, Niantic stand to lose here.
I, like many others, are pretty concerned about getting banned. I personally used PGNexus a few times prior to clocking on to the fact it is against the ToS of Niantic. I was sent the link by a friend who simply said it was a fantastic tool for checking the detailed stats of your Pokémon, so I did. It was not until I came on this subreddit a few days later that my jaw dropped and I started panicking. As let's be honest, this is the first time a lot of us would have needed to read the ToS of a mobile app. Slightly ironically, I actually decided not to use POKÉVISION as I felt it was against the spirit of the game and I enjoyed the excitement of not knowing what I would find. If I am honest, I did feel like it was cheating...now I find myself being tarred with the same brush after using an IV checker!
I have now come to terms with the fact I have a high chance of getting banned, especially if it is simply a computer programme working through a huge list of people that have logged on to a 3rd party app, regardless of how many times and the innocent intentions. If the inevitable happens, I personally have no plans of starting again and supporting Niantic.
I realise there is a lot more to it than I will ever understand but I have played big games before, I still play Clash of Clans and have done since it was released. Supercell (Clash of Clans) had loads of issues with players "sandboxing" and finding ways of staying online to avoid being attacked. They just adapted and developed the game so this was not possible, they didn't just wipe half the community.
I have my fingers crossed to all of you in my situation, I do not feel the punishment fits the crime here, if we are banned.
