## The event
Collect Bear paws in various events, login rewards, and a set of special roadmaps. The roadmaps required bee hives, which could be accuired from regular tournaments, events, and for basic arena participation. End reward is a new toon, and/or cards for older event toons
## Review
- **Theme**: On point - reward is bear, story contains bear, items are bear related. Much better than the random assortment of things recently. Caution - may lead to bear puns, with grizzly consequences unless people learn to beehive.
- **Event toon**: It's a bear! Seems good too. I think Kenny is overall still better, but this is certainly one of the absolute top F2P event toons.
- **Technical**: Lots of issues plagued all parts of this event. Clear step down from the months before. Compensation was usually fine. (special mention goes to the broken collection mission in Wayland's anvil for some people).
- **Communication**: Abysmal - it was very unclear right until the end what you had to do and if you were on track, U-turns... The devs have acknowledged this and promised to revise it for similar events in the future.
- **Tournaments**: Bee hives were easy to get; one of the clear upsides of this event is that it did not take away (most of) the free cards from Levelup milestones.
- **Roadmaps**: I enjoyed the roadmap story-wise (gameplay was boring, but that's ok). Some unexpected turns. It took maybe a bit long for the bear to appear, and the Brutus flashback should probably have happened in the middle somewhere than right at the end, but a clear step up from the regular roadmap stories. Stage rewards were pretty good too.
- **Missions**: Free stuff, and some of it high-value too. No complaints
- **Grey market**: I liked the riffs on the old event names.
- **Store**: Bear tokens were expensive. There was almost no value to the bee hives, unless you missed a few days of playing.
I actually enjoyed a lot about this event - the toon, the roadmap. the other rewards, etc. Nevertheless, I think this was a quite bad event. Much of it just felt bad - the bear was all or nothing, and a lot of people I play with ended up just short. Grabbing some Dylan cards is nice, but other than that the consolation prizes were of very limited use - you couldn't even get a full toon, so it was really only relevant for newer players that couldn't finish the monthly event for that toon. Which, by the way, would not work for this event - The bear is not in the museum, so if you're a little short, you can't just take most of the cards and hope they bring them back later.
And the confusing communication certainly did not help. It's great that they made bee hives so easily accessible, but it's not good that they made extras so useless. What a slap in the face for SC members: here take this free gift daily! It'll do nothing for you, except allow you to farm a roadmap that's not farmable! Previous events allowed you to dig deeper into a stash (like Paging Dr. Stevens or Curious Conundrum), or at least work towards additional collection milestones (like 5th Anniversary). Here it's have some wood and a bit of player XP. Seriously?
In short, the event had great rewards, but felt bad. If a week-long mini-event feels bad it's one thing, but on a multi-week event it's much more severe.
5/10
