This is a pole to get some feedback on something I've noticed, and that is that I myself have stopped reporting people. Why? Because I've done at least a 100 of them, only when I was absolutely certain there was no one at the gym, even If I knew for certain the person was a spoofer, I had to be at the gym at the time. No results.
Then, the raids were introduced. The spoofers, snipers, account sharing, multi account and fair play folks had to ban together. In the beginning we all acted like nothing happened, because everyone actually came. Then they got relaxed and started to talk about account sharing. Then It started to get hot through the afternoon and they just went back to spoofing. Then they started to come to raids and multi-accounting. Then the mob pressure had people joining them, reducing the influential minority by the day. Now, they got validation, because almost everyone is at the same playing field and there are no consequences. From Niantic's standpoint, it's a wonderful mix of gambling: I bought this, I'm not jeopardizing my coins! I don't know how long this will last!; marketing: LIMITED TIME ONLY! SUPER ULTRA RARE! LEGENDARY! SHINY! .... and nobody complains because they sometimes win. Aka, gambling. Keep the uncertainty up boys! From a social and psychological standpoint we're talking about social pressure, mob mentality, cognitive dissonance and a whole lot of other atrocities I never thought I'd associate with catching Pokemon in the park, and don't really feel like getting into.
I'd also like some feedback from Niantic if they could release the number of complaints before and after introducing raids. Such data could even be used in a serious research into social dynamics with such a high numbers of participants.
Thanks :)
