Before your shuffle you have the option of separating your land cards and randomly choosing 3, keep them face down. Finish your shuffle with all the lands and spells. Draw 4 cards now. You are guaranteed to have at least 3 random land, but could have drawn more, that is the risk. I believe this will give players more play time and a better opportunity to enjoy the game.
